**Very disappointing stay — unresolved charges and poor conditions** Booking through Expedia was smooth and I paid in full in advance, so I expected a simple check-in. However, upon arrival at the Red Lion Hotel Downtown Boise, I was required to pay an unexpected deposit just to receive my room key, despite already having paid for the stay. I was told it would be refundable. Due to a sudden family emergency and the passing of a close family member, I had to shorten my stay. I informed the front desk immediately and was told Expedia would need to handle the refund. More than a week later, I still have not received reimbursement for the shortened stay or the deposit. The room itself was also disappointing. I found bugs in the bathroom, the floors were sticky (to which the soles of my shoes could come off), and I did not feel comfortable enough to remove my shoes. In addition, the room was extremely hot with no functioning air conditioning during 103°F weather, was provided a fan. At checkout, I was again told the deposit would be returned within a few business days, which has still not happened. The only follow-up I received was a request to leave a review by General Manager Philip Camacho III, not any resolution. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel. Between the cleanliness issues, lack of AC, and unresolved charges, the experience was very disappointing, especially during a difficult personal time.

The free bike rentals made exploring downtown Boise very convenient. Boise has dedicated bike lanes everywhere. Hotel is in downtown so restaurants and mom and pop coffee shops are plentiful within a 15 minute walk in every direction. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Very sweet studio with small kitchen, comfy bed, plus a/c and old style clawfoot bathtub/shower. Backyard space was nice to relax after dinner out amongst shaded trees.
